Hello,

Anyone knows if the electric window regualtor for the Mk2 99-03 also
will fit in a Mk2b 2006 ?
It's for the 5 door model.
Is it the same part? Or the Mk2b is different?

i am led to believe they are the same

Since the mk2 and mk2b have the same body from the front door back
obvs 5dr needs a 5dr
and 3dr needs a 3dr

But dont hold me to that

Also, i saw there are regulators with metal cover on the gear, and
some have plastic cover.
(For example, the link above is with the metal cover).

I cant really say - as tbh - punto windows rarely fail..... so much so in the 2 i've had
Never had todo a window regulator on it

Is it difficult to remove the regulator after the door card is off?

it may appear 3 and 5 door regulator is same

Do you think it's a good idea to install a used regulator?
The used regulators i saw on ebay are from cars, that are from 2001,2002.

used regulator will probably last more than whole car, just get a used one

tbh if i needed a new window mechanism, i'd get a 2nd hand one too

Unless it was a car prone to failure

I personally fit a 2nd hand one myself

How hard is it to remove the regulator after the door card is off?
Can't find a guide for that.

first you need to remove window by uncliping this plastic thing in pic, then just remove bolts and fit new regulator

IIRC also the punto has the regulator stuff Snap Riveted into place

So you may need to drill the rivets as well

As i've said before, never removed the regulator, just the door card

If the same as the mk 2 then its just bolts (Looks the same), ive just removed two from my scrap doors

Hi,

so i ordered and received a window regulator, but the regualtor
they sent have a few problem.

First, one of the bolts that hold it to the door is missing.



Can i install a bolt from the regulator that is now inside the door?
Is this bolt is riveted, because from the other bolt i can see it's pretty solid
in place.


A few plastics are broken. are they important?
