So it looks like I'm going to need a new passenger side door...

In our haste to get indoors from the rain last night by the looks of things the seat belt stopped the door shutting. So with the wind last night its been banging open and everything. Now it can only just shut and it'd all dented from where it's been winging open....

Anyway I need a new door by the looks of things. Has anybody done this before? I've seen a few bear bone ones on ebay. But how easy/hard is it to transfer all the fittings, lock, handle, window etc onto a new door frame?

I have had to have a new passenger door in the past simple enough to do. I took mine to PuntoMan and he fitted and transferred everything for me.

Where about are you located?

Would you say it's time consuming? As in am I looking at a couple of hours or a coupe of days?

I've replaced a motor in the window but that was for a PT Cruiser, that was a pain in the arse.

I'm just hoping it won't be as painful as that was?

it would be best if you find whole door in your color

then replacing would be fast, remove 2 hinge bolts, unplug connector and lift them up, put new on , easy

Should be doable in a morning or afternoon no issues :)

My advice - Put the doors on carpet or a rug or something

Dont forget the door lock its very important

I'd personally keep the gubbins out the damaged door as well to help reduce costs in the possible future
like door actuator, linkages, door card (if same colour), wiring etc

I'd personally transfer the glass as it'd be stamped to the car
The new one wont match, but dont worry about that
its not a legal requirement or anything i just like it to near like original :)

If it's taken a hammering in the wind the hinges could have suffered. You'll find out soon enough when you offer the replacement door up. Check them out as best you can to avoid unforseen delays on the day the job is being done.

Thanks all.

Think i've found a decent supplier on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181418608177

I think its mainly the door hinges that is causing the problem with shutting as it seems to be quite out of line with rest of the car.

Either way door is all bent and i just don't like it, didn't have a scratch (other than wear and tear) so wanting to keep it as perfect as possible.

I am having trouble finding my colour code though? I mean i've found the numbers but there doesn't seem to be a letter with it?
