Hello I have checked thermostat it opens and closes I have checked the coolant sensor it reads fine I have tested the fan it works but the fan still will not start when it overheats I have attempted to look for the switch but no success on finding it any advice?

Check the fuse and relay in the engine compartment fusebox. F6 and R6 they go by. I think the actual positions differ in the fuseboxs on some cars.

Now that I have read your post more carefully you can leave out the bit I deleted about checking bearings :)

Remember that the fan can be put on by disconnecting the temperature sensor with the ignition on if you want another way to try and get it running. This will put the yellow eml on for the next three engine cycles..
