Hi there, the front pipe of my exhaust has started blowing quite badly and needs replacing. Is it plausible to do it myself of axel stands? If so how do i do it? Any help appreciated thanks! :)

If you are replacing the middle pipe/box and back box you van do this on axle stands

Easily done
Undo the bolts of the flange from the manicat to middle pipe
And the clamp on the rear box
Undo the rubber hangers and pull it all from from the car

The backbox to middle pipe may prove a pain if its also been putty filled

Noo, the whole front pipe from the engine to the joint to middle pipe. The part with the catalytic converter :)

If ur replacing the manicat (manifold and cat in one)

Its easy enough
If the heat shields rotten off then its easier still
8x bolts on head
2x bolts on flanges
2x electrical connecotrs for lambdas (one if euro 3 emissuon)
And some have a support thatd 1 bolt onto gearbox

I can get cat onto floor but not out
So jack 1 side uo (emergency jack wikl do) to give clearance to pull it out

Tips
Soak bolts and lambdas with penatrating oil
Leave 2x bolts on head finger tight till ur ready to drop
Heat may help when getting lambdad out

How do the lambda sensors connect? I was quoted £300 to have it replaced! Thats a big help though and its going to save me nearly £200. Thanks!

They have a waterproof connector
There easy to disconnect just pull tab and pull apart

Getting them out thr manifold is the bitch part
Some come ouy easy
Some won't. ....

I find heat works better then oil when removing them
You will need a lambda socket or a good fitting wrench
A good wire brush to remove rust and dirt won't go amiss either
