Technical new punto driver - couple of questions

well since it works on 1 - 2 - 4
it means fan's power and earth are okay

i suspect resistor pack plug failure (not the resistor pack itself)
or the switch (which is rare vs plugs melting tbh)

Try the firm wack approach
i hit the lower side of the passenger dashboard near the center console - if fan comes to life - its likely to be the plug on the resistor

If you wack the switch while on 3 - it comes to life, its more likely to be the switch

Nice on guys, a quick fondle of the connector under the glove box and we're fully operational

Hopefully it'll be dry later so I can give the light a looking to.

Thanks again

Neil

Taken back lights off, one of the pins in the connector is screwed, broken and bent with a bit of water inside too, I've dried it out, straightened the pin and put it back together and it seems to have fixed the issues with the bulb error and indicator flashing faster however I haven't been out in it longer than 2 mins since.

Thanks for all your help men

Cheers

Neil

Thats dead, time to find a decent one in a scrappy car and cut it off with lots of loom
You could do with cutting and shutting it to hopefully cure thr issue

Its working for now but I'll keep my eye out for a replacement. Is there a sure fire way to stop water getting behind the light? I read on a thread about silicone somewhere?

Regular cleaning to prevent groy building up which holds moisture

You could try vaseline to protect it but I tend to leave mine dry or a light misting of wd40 with excess shaken off

There is a deal between the light and the body which should prevent water getting into the car and keep the electrical connection dry, if this is missing or damaged then get a cheap replacement light with the seal in tact the problem with silicon is you'll risk sticking the light to the car, and things like vasoline will make a real mess and may not last very long

You could also try as a last resort cutting a piece of rubber to make your own gasket
