That battery apart from not listing it's specification (capacity and cold crank power output), is too short for the Punto battery box so you'd need some sort of spacer to secure it.

Battery needs to be 210mm long (absolute maximum) 175mm deep and 190mm high

The exide battery I bought last year (EB500) if the battery recommended for the Diesel engined cars so more power, and only cost me £35+vat so really wasn't very expensive.

Don't be tempted to buy a very cheap battery like the one in the eBay link they are quite often poor quality with low capacity and power output and don't tend to last very long as normal use for a much better battery would be serious abuse to a very cheap low power battery

Yeah I couldn't see the capacity anywhere either. Suggest a minimum of 38Ah and 330 CCA for a 1.2 8v. Some have fitted up to 50 Ah. You pay more for better quality battery but generally you get what you pay for.

Worth double checking with a FIAT dealer. Everyone assumes they will be a rip of but that is not always the case. Not saying much but in many cases they are way cheaper than the H place. Our other car has the oem battery coming up on 12 years old. Puts all these two and three year guarantee things into perspective.

I agree
Mums picasso is on the original battery on a 52 plate :) still going strong
Familys Ford Cmax on original on a 56plate, starting to get tired due to a blown / failing alternator
I believe my brothers Vauxhall ****ra on a 56 plate has blwon 4 alternators and STILL going on the original battery!

I do think - bigger batteries work better and last long vs small batteries pushed to limits all the time though

Why not got for a Genuine Bosch Battery for less than 40 notes?

Mick
Because it's the wrong size?

I think 202 is the size for the 8v battery tray. Could be wrong, though, because someone bodged an 063 into mine long before I got it.

The Punto is a square battery
175*175*175

IF you are willing to trim the tray and remove the plastic surround, you can get a longer battery to fit no issues

Some people have fitted "less tall" batteries in as well (but longer still)
They've screws a piece of wood into the metal clamp so that it can press down properly still

Sure it's not 190*175*175? An 063 is 175 tall, and they're definitely too short.
