Hello out there. I changed the thermostat on the weekend because my temp gauge was behaving oddly. After filling the cooling system & bleeding it, i noticed that the engine was idling quite irratically. After a drive to get the engine up to working temp it idled better but not as it has done prior to the change. Btw, it's a 1,2 16v, 80hp. I have also just recently installed an engine block heater for sending the coolant around the engine & warming it up. I live in Sweden. Prior to installation, the engine was rattling a bit too much for my ears before it got warm, which it wasn't doing all that well. After installation i noticed that one of the hoses from the heater is a bit kinked, i.e. too long. I made a guess that the thermostat was showing signs of old age. I noticed that these engines have 2 lambda sonds. I disconnected them to get at the stat. Before re-connecting them i sprayed them with contact spray & vaseline spray for waterproofing. After all is said & done is there anybody out there that has the faintest idea why the engine lamp has come on & the idle has gone a bit astmatic, if you know what i mean?

Many kind regards to anyone who takes the time to answer with a plausible suggestion.

Best Wishes,
