Hi Guys
Please confirm that the 8 valve engine is the non interferance "fire" engine.
Recently purchased the car and about to fit a new cam belt kit.The new tensioner pulley does not have the centre hub fitted,do i press out the old hub and refit it to the new pulley? Am i right in saying that the new water pump does not have a gasket but is fitted using RTV sealant?

The 8v fire engines are Safe engines
However tho when the belt does let go - it'll be like a whip, so some damage to casings etc may occour - but valves shouldnt hit pistons unless something has gone horribly wrong


The waterpump - yes i believe they do use gasket goo to seal them up
Remember to pull it down evenly with bolts and allow time to cure before filling cooling system up

Well its been a while since u did my last 8v
But I think the center pops out and pushes into new one

Some kits tho on eurocarparts have both with and without them
