Hi thanks to all the guys replies in my previous thread still having trouble.I have the standard Blaupunk sat nav system i bought a new disc i type the address where i want to go it then calculates the route tells me how far but only shows a silly arrow that points all over the place and says off road.I am on a major road and nothing changes.if i do navi simulation it talks me through the proper routes and shows a map but is only a demo any advice appeciated.

how old is this main road? if less than a year old it wont be on there.

sounds like its not getting a signal.dont really know anything about sat nav but does it work out the distance via knowing its starting point and distance data on the disc?or does it do an on the fly calcualation purely from sat' info?
if you pull over can the sat nav find its bearings?

Has it been calibrated? There is something you can do (vaguely remembering the manual) that re-sets your position so the unit knows where you are? Maybe it's having trouble with this.

i have tried calibrating it but i do not no if i am doing it right.I wish i had not bought the unit it's doing my head in.

does the "locating " option work in the NAV menu?

Is the little black box of tricks present on the car.
It should be located on the inside of your windscreen behind the rear view mirror - its about an inch and a half square.?

yeah it locates fine and the box is there very confusing!!!!
