i am led to believe that the 16v is a 12mm Hex Female

So you need a 12mm Male socket

Ziggy is right - that a 12mm HEX / allen key is required to unwind it..,


are you asking about the thread..??,
don't know the SIZE / pitch.. - BUT it's tapered.. - so no sealing washers required,

Most fiats use the 12mm hex key but be warned some people have been caught out where someone has fitted odd after market sump plugs instead

Most sets of Allen keys won't have a 12mm so if buying one invest in a half decent set of larger Allen keys and its a set of useful tools you've added to your tool box that will last years to come

Alternatively, any engineer's merchants will cheerfully sell you a 12mm hex key.
