Hi
my car has a slight judder at idle (used to be worse but something ive done has helped) i can feel it juddering only on idle, car runs fine when on the move.
so far ive replaced ht leads, replaced alternator belt, cleaned throttle body, checked cleaned and re-gapped plugs, bled coolant system, checked throttle cable, idle valve and hoses going to throttle body.
the idle stays at 900rpm when up to temperature but can still feel it and when cold you can still feel it but it shows the idle pulsing from 1100rpm to just under 1200rpm
all help would be appriciated, Alex

dunno why people change parts without knowing exactly what is the problem unless you got a donor car, did you atleast plug it to a computer if it shows any errors

How old are the spark plugs? tbh there cheap - just swap them for new

If there old - they can sometimes miss from time to time

had over 3 years old ngk spark plugs in my mk1, never had any misfire

the car shows no fault codes, also ive only replaced the ht leads there fairly cheap and no record of the being changed for a while and alternator belt no record of it being changed in the history and had a few cracks
plugs where changed in july this year so couldnt imagine those being a problem

could this problem ne related to the battery?, after i fitted my alternator belt i started the car and put a multimeter on it and it showed 13.88v, should it be 14?
also a few weeks ago i had a power steering light come on put went away when i restarted the engine

i got 13,9V

never got this high voltages as in this guide but car starts fast on first try everytime

the punto alternator is a 14v alternator, so its regulated at 14v, in thoery shouldnt go higher,

I'd be happy if it was sitting at 13.8 / 13.9v if the battery was low / dead, as the alternator cant charge whats dead

so that guide should be fixed as it was perfomed on a mk2b which uses different alternator and higher voltages?

Well it regulates the voltage to 14v, however a little over due to meter readings and other contributing factors, seing just over isn't a worry

I rarly see over 14v, and mine a happy system (for now....)

Bad alternator can do that, uneven idle etc. My charging voltage is set to 14,8V, works like a charm Faster window roll up for example
