hi all. i have a 2000 1.2 8v punto, it had its mot two weeks ago and has got another year of life given to it lol.

The mot bloke pointed out the cambelt cover was cracked and he would get it replaced as the belt was on display. I bought one off of ebay and its very different, the one i got has a bolt in the top right corner near the camshaft pulley, and my one doesnt, and it also extends down the engine at the front.

how many different types are there and i cant seem to find the one i need on ebay or anywhere else.

any help be gratefully appreciated.

I've got one the same year & model that's going to the crusher, i'll have a look if it's any good.

yeah that would be brilliant. would you be able to grab a picture of it for me please.

just been looking on ebay. and the ones that come close to it is the 1.2 16v version. seems odd? or is this normal for fiat

Pre Phase(cam) Sensor and Phase sensor version

2 very differrent, not interchangeable

youll need to look at the 1999 / 2000 versions - you might find a 2001 with it on
almost sure in 2002 it went upto euro 3 when the cam sensors joined in

hate using dealers, just seem to charge the earth and not care as your not buying a new car from them.

And am I right In saying you a non cam sensor type?

it is just the top half, without cam sensor. Its the version that has the front long front, without the bolt at the top right as you look at it from the side of the car.

thats the one i thought it was and bought a replacement, till tried fitting it lol. its not that type, from what i can gather its the one prior to that.

how about repairing the crack?
