HI
can anyone advise me why my window wipers are intermittent? I have followed the guide found on this site, but cant post link as a newbie,
but had no joy in solving the problem. the motor seems to be working as they still judder but don't get a full wipe. would you suggest a new motor??
also I have had the fuse for the washer jets/rear wiper blow on me. I changed it but it blew again.

Juddery wipers. Haven't heard much of that of late. Some people got it fixed by opening the gearbox on the motor and cleaning off the grease on the contact plate which supposedly was the wrong type. In my case I ended up opening the motor, draining the eggcup of water, cleaning and freeing up the brushes one of which had jammed sideways in it's slot and regreasing the motor. That was 2006.
I would try opening the spindle on the rear wiper and greasing it.

I have done that, plugged it back in after bending prong up a little as they were pushed down, that seemed to fix the issues as the wipers reset back to normal ok.
BUT then the fuse for the washer jets and rear wiper keeps blowing evertime I touch the wipers. do u know why this may be?

There is only pump for the front and rear washer so unless it happens with the front wash as well it's unlikely that the pump is the problem.
The rear wiper spindle could be sticking and needs cleaning and lubrication. If that doesn't do it, it could be the rear wiper motor needs examining. Maybe it's sticking.

sorted out, just brought a new motor, but now I need an indicator stalk as I have no fast wiper spee

The contacts in the stalks can get dirty and can often be recovered by a good dose of contact cleaner sprayed into the innards.
The plug for the motor gets dirty and is well worth cleaning.
Erratic motor behaviour can be fixed by opening and cleaning the motor. It's a straightforward job.
