On My punto 1,2 16v year 02 is the engine ecu not working the right way, number 0261207901 if I found a used box with the same number does this work on my car or should I buy one new and then programing it on my car. The car is misfiring on cyl. nr. 3. Sparkplug and other´s in ignition is ok.

Iirc the coil pack is .ore likely to be cause
As it runs 2 sparks at same time like the 8v

It has a common ground and 1 of the other 2 pins spark 2 cylinders

If 3 isnt sparking then no2 wont be either

Getting another ecu wont work as youll need the locks and keys and dash and fusebox from another same spec 16v punto

Hi Ziggy and others.
I have tried out resistance in spark plugs cable =ok. Coil is brand new. Sparkplug =new. The 2 lamdasonde on the catalysator I have changed for a month ago.
Fuel injector, I have reversed with number 2 cyl. Still number 3 misfiring. When I take off the wiring connector to injector nr.3 you cant hear any change off the engine, but when I do this with 1,2 and cyl.nr.4 you can hear it on the engine. Then someone told me it is the ecu box. Fault codes with ecu scan is P0420-P0300-P0301-P0303.
When I take off connector on cyl. nr. 3 Fault code is P0203.

P0203 is what you'd expect if you unplugged the injector. This suggests that the injector itself is fine.

Plug leads are cheap.

Compression test.

Hi All
Now the mystery is clear, the engine is damaged in cyl.nr.3.
One inlet valve is burned so there is a big hole, and the other valve is on the way.So now I have ordered a new used engine, will come to me last of week
so I can put it in the car in the weekend.
