Hi my 2004 punto 1.2 8v doesnt seem to idleing properly it seems to judder when stopped in traffic then when i gently put my foot on the acclerator it seems to take some tim pe for it to regester ive checked the battery and it has 12.31 volts then with engine running its about 13.9 volts then with lights and heater on full its getting 13.69 volts should i replace the alternator or battery or is it something to do with the throttle body? the problem is really starting to annoy me so help would be aprieciated
thanks AJ

the voltage are a little low for the Average good results
But tbh i get them results and no issues as well, so i wouldnt be worried

I'd get the throttle body cleaned up as well, check that also the throttle cable isn't ""binding"" as that can cause odd issues

I suspect the cold air and vapour from breatehrs just clogged up the throttle body a little bit

Hi thanks for the replies i shall check the throttle cable later. i checked the battery test guide on here and it says put main beams on, heater on full and rear screen on, i only put dipped lights and heater on full and still got less so could that make it a fault with my alternator?
ive recently had a new clutch and gearbox put in and didnt do that before so wondering what it could be
thanks AJ

Id not be worried about that battery/Alt issue its okay for now

Dont just check throttle cable
Check the throttle butterfly
Get a wrag with brake cleaner/white spirits/carb cleaner/even a lil bit of wd40 will work
Spray lightly on and wipe Clean
Don't go made with cleaner as it might cause little rough running on first startup but it will clear

now the cars fine, must have just been an air lock
