hello there everyone its my first post here on the forum and i'm very excited for more infos on the upcoming days ,
anyhow i'm planning for modifying my mk2 1.2 8v for more power output ,
i'm really lovin this car and i'm not planning to change it for a few couple years to come but i need more output from it .
the plan is :
mk2 1.8 16v dohc engine
1.2 sport transmission 6 speed lsd
catless header with two pipe lines plus 2 backboxes
ngk iridium sparks
2 cold air intake
koni coilovers
14 " front 205/55
15"rear 215/55
any suggestions would be helpful about the marks and any other tuning i missed .
thanks
:)

isn't there a turbo kit out there already for the 1.8 engines?

So saves alot of modding getting a 0.9 twin air turbo to fit....

Which i suspect wont be powerful enough as it only has to fill 2 cylinders vs 4 on the 1.8

What with 14 on front 15 on rear?
Wide tyres on a punto is asking for trouble - egypt aint as wet as the UK
But 195 is probably max i'd suggest

thanks man ,
what about fitting 500 turbo into the 1.8 engine

Not impossible, but I think you'd need forged rods, forged lower compression pistons. It all gets very expensive, very quickly.

There may be enough room in there for a 2 litre 16v turbo engine out of a FIAT Coupe, if you can find one. It's a tougher engine than the 1.8, and comes ready turbocharged.

My advice: put the modification money to one side, add to it over the next few months, then buy an HGT. I had a bit of a lemon to be fair, but it was still a great car. That way, the gearbox, brakes, wheels and suspension all match the power, and it'll be cheaper in the long run.

i wish for it dear mike but its hard to find any high end any types of anything due to restriction laws of safety and bow ****
:)

could i ask something ,
what about tuning my 1.2 8v sohc into 16v dohc out of the 1.2 sport plus a garrett Gt15 turbo
is it possible and what i do need to do such a work ?
thanks

Not really sure what you're asking. Both the 8v and 16v 1.2 have been turboed.

Of course, the T Jet is a factory re-engineered 1.4 turbo.

GT-15 is peobably too small -- GT-17 will be better.

You need:

*Some way of reducing the compression ratio
*Turbo, manifold, blow off valve, exhaust.
*Bigger injectors
* Piggy back or aftermarket ECU.
* Better clutch

A fair bit of stuff over in the Cinq/Sei section, but the Mk2 has the added complication of being canbus.

Hi,

try to install an oil catch can. I did and i have very good results. :slayer:
