After 4 years of owning my fiat punto, the time has come to sell it as ive bought a new car. Its been a great car and I will be sad to see it go.

Its a bright yellow 2002 sporting, its done 85,000 miles and the mot runs out the end of December but i am 100% confident that it will pass again this year without any major problems

it does have a few mods -

abarth body kit apart from the spoiler which i have got painted in the correct colour but havent put on
powerflow exhaust (only the backbox, nothing too loud or crazy)
mk2b rear lights

i have maintained the car religiously myself and i have all the service history and a pile of receipts and mechanically it is perfect -

cambelt and water pump changed last year

refurbished rear brake drums

brand new discs and pads on the front

new bottom suspension arms and track rod ends

very good tyres - almost new

unfortunately it is a fiat and it does have some bad points!

bad points -

black mark down the side from a car brushing past (not too noticable)

headlights are very cloudy - could do with replacing or being cleaned up

the passenger side door card is broken and could do with replacing

also the kick trim on the passenger side is missing and also a small piece of plastic on the side of the centre console in the footwell is missing

sunroof is broken - the motor and mechanism still seem to work, but the seal is very brittle and the roof is not moving - needs attention

the door latch that keeps the door open on the passenger side has broken and you can hear it clicking going around corners - the door still functions perfectly though, the drivers side isnt much better but the latch still works.

question is how much is it worth?

pictures are the only ones i have but i will take some better ones once ive got it out the garage tomorrow and cleaned it!

I'd pop it in for another MOT so you can, at least, sell it with a year's ticket.

Very hard to guess at sale prices -- you could always stuff it on a well known auction site starting at (say) £600.

A day going round scrappies and another working on the car (usually the lights will cut back to clear) may improve the price.

Hi.
I've just sold mine for 700. 52 reg..more or less mint.
A dealer has now got it screen priced at 1495.

They are worth a round a grand 'private sale'.
But I guess they might take a few week to sell..

Good luck with the 'sale' (y)

These are getting old now and losing desirability fast

As suggested £700-800 is probably about the best you'll get, maybe stick it on the market for just under a grand, but remember grande Puntos can now be picked up for around a thousand so don't hold your breath

If i was to buy it - i'd spend about 300max
Why Because as you've said - it needs lights replacing or resurfacing
The door card need to come off to have damage components replaced
Damaged interior trim

Honestly - get down a scrapyard - find some decent replacements get them fitted

I'd not pay £800 thats sounds "tatty" based on the description

Any invoices for things for the work been carried out
As self serviced / repaired cars go for a hella lot less vs a garage done setup

As for me - i dont know your skills / abilities, so it could be badly done - who knows?

Ziggy
