Hey guys, its come to that point where im not happy with the paint quality of my mk2b and any further mods will have to wait untill i am,
when i bought the car there was a few bonnet paint chips and few scratches to the rear bumper. ive cleaned the car a few times and it just saddens me

so here is what im looking for! any recommendations of places that will really make her look mint again. chip repair and t-cut the scratches take back the paint to restore the beauty of the teseo mettalic blue that looks brilliant when the sun hits it.

i dont mind saving for some top quality A1 work. im in the bicester/oxford area most days but also commute to see family some weekends in rotherham/sheffield so recommendations in both areas would be most helpful

It may be a little out of the way for you; they're also not particularly cheap (it cost me £180 to have my front bumper resprayed...) -- but their work is as near perfection as you're going to get: Logic Vehicle Preparation Centre, in Stratford-upon-Avon.

I keep looking at my bonnet, too. Living in the middle of the countryside, it doesn't half take some punishment. Doesn't help that a previous owner just sprayed over the top of a light-blue replacement, without any prep or primer....

mate if the work is good enough 40 miles is not a problem at all tbh. what sort of evil person would do that to a bonnet! i have maybe 2 or 3 chips that annoy the hell out of me

Some people have had good success with filling stone chips with a matching or very dam near matching paint - so there is like 4 to 5 layers of paint
then sanding it back with some 3000grit to make it ""flat"" as possible, then getting a rotary polish on it and restoring it back


If the car paintwork is solid but lacking luster - you could do with a detail paint correction

But it isn't cheap
