Noob question but does it matter which way round the self adjusters go when reassembling rear drums on mk2 punto? I ask because i forgot to take photos when i took them apart, both sides.

You need the tin flap so its over the teeth ...

I guess they will fit in the wrong way...they won't auto adjust if so...

So what will happen is as soon as friction material gets lower...you will get less effort /efficency

So its worth while checking them again to make sure all is correct..

I have a similar question and don't want to open a new thread. When you put new shoes you need to close the thread of the selfadjuster or you have to put it exactly how it was with old shoes and adjust only the handbrake?Thank you and forgive my poor english!

The internal Handbrake adjuster in the cabin needs to be completly slack
THEN
Ensure the automatic adjusters are set to the smallest setting

Once everything is together

Pump the brake pedal short pumps - instead of putting pedal to floor *prevents master cylinder damage on the section it dont run on*

Once the pedal has gone firm and the drums have stopped clicking as they adjust

You can then adjust the manual one in the cabin to the desired handbrake

Once thats been done
Release the handbrake and ENSURE THE WHEELS AREN'T BINDING

Ziggy
