Hello I posted a few months ago about both airbag lights coming on I've tried the leads ect to try and clear the lights but still no luck anyone got any suggestions ?

Hi mate,

When you say no luck, what exactly have you done? Did you manage to connect to the airbag ECU? What codes were produced? Did you clear them and they have come back? Or were you unable to connect?

If when plugging your car in you are unable to communicate with the airbag ecu I would guess that your airbag ecu has failed and just needs swapping. They are simple enough to do and cheap enough just make sure you get the right one

I plugged it up but it wouldn't connect to the airbag part ? I'm guessing by the previous comment that it's the airbag Ecu, where can you get them cheap and know they're the right one ?

what leads have you tried?

I've tried a diagnostics thingy and a lead which you plug into a laptop think it's a multi ecu scan but it failed to connect with airbag

you will need to alter an elm or use an adapter to connect to airbag ecu

from experience they CAN be difficult to connect to,


what adapators / leads were you using ?,
RED for airbag I seem to recall..,





did all the engine stuff work well once connected ?,


if you can't drive actuators and stuff, chances are it's not set-up properly

Oh that could be why I was using a fiat one off eBay which is meant to clear the lights but it wouldn't connect I did see a video on line that they were using different coloured leads ?

Yes, you need different coloured leads. I use this one. Bear in mind that you need to use it with a VAGCOM/KKL adapter, NOT ELM327.
