Just contacted fiat to get price for new key for my 52 plate sporting as only have one and it doesn't work central locking they have quoted me 323.00 for one to operate central locking and 253.00 for a solid one. Can anyone suggest were else to try am in Glasgow

try your local auto-electricians
Get a quote for Key, key cutting, and programming

I'd rather have 2 keys that are solid (no blippers) as atleast the car
Will start stop and lock

ziggy

this chestnut keeps rearing its head
theres quite a few auto electricians in my area but they wont have knowledge of how to code a key into a mk2 punto as you cant use something from alibaba

ask one of our members on here oldcodger? was it who had a cloned key?
im not going to repeat this because its been done to death,do NOT get a cloned key OP

A propper lock smith is what you need, ;)

avoid the shoe cobbler places that cut & pretend to be able to code these fiat key's. because they carnt. what they will do is ring there mate in that works for another company to do a forighner so to speak, and then they will add more coin
on top,

Key coding tech is getting much cheaper these days which is helping put it in the hands of more and more lock smiths and auto electricians.

Essentially to program these keys, you need to plug in to the car tell the car you want to program new keys, then put each key one by one into the car then confirm at this point the all the keys are accepted into the system, and keys previously programmed but not inserted during programming are locked out securing the car against any lost keys, it takes time, the keys are cheap the tech is fairly cheap (though out of the realms of the home hobbyist) so the price they quoted you is vastly inflated I would asking for a break down of what you're actually paying for

more than likely..most of it will be for the V.A.T mans' lunch.
Caviar & wine..and a couple of cigars,

if you do use a proper key man the type that you see in auctions then you need to pay a hefty price for one very good reason, the kit aint cheap, forget zedbulls or alibaba copies they wont cut the mustard on a fiat punto, you need cryptoworks or similar
