Hi all,

I've recently decided to change my old Blaupunkt radio as it is getting a little bit tired..

I've got a Kenwood aftermarket radio all set to go in.. (aswell as the new facia panel to fit in) I've been told that the connectors will be different and that i will need to buy a different connector to make everything fit. If so, does anyone know what connector I will need?

Does anyone have an idea if this is the case?

Thanks,
Rhys

Finally got it changed after a ridiculous amount of jiggery pokery..
Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures while I was doing it because picture were the last thing on my mind!

The only trouble is that the cage around the radio was a pain to get in the slot because it was so out of shape.. Also the wiring was a pain (I'm not very electrically minded) but eventually I got there!

Does anyone know if it will drain my battery? When I take out the keys it stays on.. I've already got into the habit of taking out the front just incase...

Looks good mate!

I have a JVC radio in the car and like you say it stays on when you take the keys out. I just press the release button on the front. This causes it to pop out and discount front the unit. Won't drain your battery that way! Or you can wire it up so it goes off with when the keys are taken out.

...to the cigarette lighter socket...!

or even easier :)

Piggy back fuse it :)
Since my multimeter picked it pulls 0.06ma :) stick a 2amp fuse from halfrauds in it and you'll be good to go :)
Run it up with some nice double insulated wire tho - behind that dash board can be sharp....
