I have a Punto mk2 HGT. When I bought it 2 months ago it came like that.

It is one cable which goes to the "under-wipers" bar/place (where the electric motor for the wipers is and then it is separated - one is unknown to me, the other one is exactly the wipers cable.

On picture 2014-07-06 12.41.40.jpg they separate exactly where my hand is.

From what I can tell the connector looks like a FIAT's one (the one on the fog lights on the headlamps is the same, except it's 2pin and not 4).

Any suggestions what should I do with this cable?

Hi mate,

Your pictures won't load for me (rubbish 3G where I am right now) but from your very good description I would say it's almost certainly the connector for the siren on the factory fit alarm system. Quite a few puntos have it and when the alarm isn't installed it's just left dangling!

You could tape it up if you want to help prevent any possible water ingress issues but it should be ok to be honest.

As above its for an alarm siren (which isn't installed on your car), i asked a the same thing when replacing my wiper mechanism.

I had to use cable ties and some tape to re position it on mine as it was rubbing on the wiper mechanism & had wore through the plastic on the cable.

Thanks for the information :)

A related question would be - is it worth getting the factory siren (and is it only for sound notification when you're locking/unlocking the car)?

I used to have a mk2 sporting which didn't have an in-built remote locking. Now, on this punto, I have it on the key, is it somehow related to the siren or are they separate things?
