Hi wonder if anyone has any ideas on why my 1.2 active 8 valve has started to slightly overheat,I changed the stat about a month ago and it has been running fine not using any water, temp guage almost halfway when running and the heater is fine.Now I notice that when its running the guage goes slightly above half way and the fan comes on, the heater still blows hot air, have bled the pipe at the rear of the engine but no air was present,any help or ideas would be great.

what stat did you buy.. aftermarket or genuine one?

there is alot of iffy aftermarket stats about,
plenty on here have had problems with the cheaper one's.

failing that.. id guess waterpump is on end of day's

or worst case scenario. headgasket.

it was odd my older punto used to sit just above the "middle" regulary, without issue, i mean the needle just sat above it - not miles above it

Fan didnt always come on, i suspected the dash was at fault
but no overheat - didnt fix what wasn't broken

Forgot to add this ,when the engine is running and the fan is on the bottom hose pipe at the left under the filler tank is cold then warmer as it goes into the engine,would this indicate circulation problem and possible water pump on the way out.
