I got a compression test done on my new punto today.

The mechanic told me that the results were 160, 160, 155, 160 and that it means no issues with the HG. Has anybody done a compression test before? I checked other results for Mk2s and my numbers are lower. Just wondering if these numbers mean anything else.

A lot will depend on how it's done. When checking the HG, the thing to look for is relative uniformity (within 10% or so) of the readings.

Seems fine, when my HG went I had something along the lines of 160, 160, 20, 160

160psi is fine - a donor engine i had was happy with that

On my carboned up engine i had 200psi so shows what it can do

What made you want todo a comoression check?
