Right, I've just got a door from the scrappy and I need to fit the insides of my current door to this one


This is the inside of the door i brought


This is what i need to take off and put onto the new door

not too difficult, door card held on by a series of screws (most of which have trim covers) and the usual trim "fir tree" buttons and the like.

Basically unscrew it, lever it off as carefully as possible. You might find a trim removal tool useful, I just used a scraper or screwdriver. Then fit in revers

Speaker cover pops off, speaker held on with a few screws.

Haynes has a reasonable guide on it

Yea I think it was by Dave, there's definitely a guide

fit the new door then swap things over, its safer and means the door doesnt slide down the wall and get damaged

Not only that - if you have inners exposed on the donor it means you have another set of hands to hold onto the door as it goes up

if you use a jack to hold the door, make sure you use a block of wood to protect it!

Well after looking at the guide, I think it's just easier if I get someone to do it, as I'm not exactly a DIY person I don't mind doing easy things like changing filters and oil.
The thing that would get me would be the locks, I wouldn't have an idea how to change the locks over and I would probably do something wrong. The door card doesn't look too bad to change over

If some of you guys lived closer then maybe we could try to do it

the lock removal is just a clip believe it or not... its quiet easy and simple!

i honestly suggest that you give it a go, because you'll soon realise that it isn't hard

if you get it wrong you either mark the door skin or the door lock falls out a week next tuesday
let the man put some money into the trade
just dont let them change the oil and charge for snake oil flushing crap
