My headlights are looking very shoddy got a lot of surface scratches and its really ruining the look of the car :( and recommendations of how to get rid ? Cleaning kits or whether the plastic needs replacing ? Cheers ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1375454142.127244.jpg

I did a full restoration of my own headlights and I used UPOL333 its about 8 quid on ebay and very effective. Once you have sorted them out then use T-cut afterwards and then a good glass polish like the autoglym one I used and they will look absolutely lovely and clear and you will finally be able to see at night again... I was delighted with mine
good luck

I've tried Turtle wax's restoration kit on my worn headlights and the results were pretty good.

Just ensure you follow the instructions strictly and they should turn out good. I also found applying some autoglym sealer or G3 wax compound helped protect and preserve the nice new finish :)

Does anyone know weather you can just buy the outer plastic instead of the whole headlight ? I've been thinking and I reckon the scratches on the headlight are too deep to be taken out by a kit ... Looks like a previous owner has had a go at it with sandpaper :( a real mess

1 of 2 options

Get lens from a scrap car - but you'll need light cluster out todo it
So you might as well just take 2x lights clusters out

2 - try the kit
if your unsure it'll survive a clean up - and it does - your quids in
if it doesn't - well tough luck - you tried and you have to get a new light cluster set

i'm going to have todo this on my punto
My light units are going cloudy and crusty, no options about it, its gotta be done :(

You might aswell for a restoration kit, like others said the 3M kit sounds good. Although I can personally recommend the turtle wax kit.

My headlights had previously been scratched with sand paper badly and the kit did a pretty good job of sorting that out.

Won't go wrong following ziggy's advice, well at worst lose a few quid

Hi guys I restores my headlights back the other day they were really bad and didn't want to fork out on new ones so I thought I would try something I used p1200 wet and dry paper with water and rub over the lenses not to hard untill the bad stuff comes off then wash off and dry use t cut and give it a good rub then buffer up and it actually works perfect like new again instead of paying £20 for kit
