i have been working on a friends 54 plate 1.2 punto because it suddenly lost all power and the EML came on with a P0351 coil pack fault, it also had a dreadful and erratic idle. so i replaced both coils, sparkplugs, lambda and changed oil and oil/air filters, all OE parts
revs are a little steadier but still not the best, the car starts fine and sounds more even on the cylinders, but once running it has terrible stutter, breaks up and kangaroos around town and under light throttle. open the throttle wide and get onto the open road and it seems to clear itself and run fairly good for a while, then back to an awful jerky ride. no fault codes are now present
any help greatly appreciated as i am new to the fiat experience and i keep being told the car is normal for a fiat..........WTF:bang:

20 view wont be memebrs either, it'll be things like Google bots and ask bots etc etc and odd people searching punto rough running etc who aren't members

Anyway - why no HT lead replacement? There just as likely if you replace coils and sparkies

Also clean the throttle body

thanks for your reply,
i fitted new HT leads and cleaned the throttlebody at the same time as fitting the coils.
the frustrating thing is the car drove to work this morning perfect, then i just tried it again to nip to derby and it was like riding on the back of a kangaroo, lurching and jerking. could it be fuel starvation?

Crank/TDC sensor would be on my list of things to look at next.

Maybe because you posted this in the wrong section...

If posts are in the wrong section it really helps if they're reported so that people can move them quickly. Mods gets email notifications when a report comes in, contrary to popular belief we don't sit here 24/7 reading every post, waiting for someone to do something wrong :p

I think that's a good call - often TDC sensor issues are not picked up by the ECU.

If it ain't that, I'd start to think that the problem is mechanical. Compression test, and etc.

FIRE engines (especially MPI ones) don't run rough unless they're neglected (fairly common).
