Hi Have just bought a 1.9 jtd an 03 dynamic model. Really pleased BUT heater blower does not work and no heat from heater even on full.
Where do I start to sort out please. 35 amp fuse under bonnet seems ok. Here endeth the extent of my "knowledge "
Thanks ET52

Hi
Yes that works ok .All lights do but bulb warning light is on ??

Have you checked for voltage at the fan motor itself? Could simply be a dead fan. Also check that the little black connector hasn't been kicked off of the bottom of the fan as its easily done.

Also have you checked to see if your sidelights come on instead of the fan?

Have found reason for problem but not sure why. Previous owner has installed a push/pull switch on about 2 foot of wire which operates blower. Was tucked up behind glove box with bare wire to the switch .!!!! What would this be to by pass and what will need replacing please. Thanks for all previous suggestions.

Does it bypass the fan speed control knob on the dash?
If so it could be faulty and rather than replace it they have made their own switch.

Hi
Think it might as blows at full speed wherever switch is set.

There are two things that may be at fault, by the sounds of it, rather than fix it, they have just bodged it.

It will most likely be either the fan switch is faulty, or the fan resistor pack is faulty. Most likely the fan switch, as even if the resistor pack was faulty, it would still work on 4 and therefore there would be no need for the extra switch.

I would advise removing the dodgey wiring, and connecting it all back up as standard, and then see if the fan control switch works. If it doesn't, a replacement can be found on eBay or local scrap yard easily enough.

Your DEFINATELY right to be worried about the wiring though, sounds like a fire waiting to happen.

Great. Thanks for help. Will send you a burger if it goes up before I sort it.

Lol cheers!

Once you have connected it all back up properly, if your side lights come on when you turn the switch to 1 instead of your fan, have a look in the guides section, as there is a guide on how to fix that. It's the only other reason I can think of as to why they may have provided the fan with its own feed and switch.

Will do. Bound not to be straight forward if I bought it. !!!
