Should be a Speedgear, like mine: i.e. a CVT (belted, rather than cogged) semi-automatic transmission -- with the ability to also change 'manually' (but clutchless, in effect) into five preset gear ratios (or six, in the Sporting): so, I suppose, it could be described as "Tiptronic" (originally developed by Porsche?): as you have the ability (although somewhat limited) to override the automatic function....

PS: Does your gear lever look like this...? That's the Speedgear, described above....
