Hi Boys and Girls

I have a massive issue with my MK2 1.2 sporting.

my car wont idle properly very jerky and juddery, once the revs get above 1800rpm it calms down and sounds fine. however when i drive it the ignition warning light comes on and flashes and it goes into limp mode with no revs or go.

has any one got any ideas what this could be.

ive had the spark plugs out, they are fine, ive checked the HT leads they look fine. ive disconnected and reconnected any plugs that i can get to and they all seem fine.

please please help:confused:

it might not be limp mode but its just gutless in low revs and cant get it into the higher revs as dont want to push it or drive it too far so making an assumption

Since you said sporting your a 16v
The 16v isnt good lower down, its happier higher up in the rev range

Unlike its brother 8v version which stronger lower then at the top but still happy to rev up

A spark lead may look good but it may be leaking (arcing) to the body

At night bonnet up study the leads carefully and see if you can see it arcing anywhere
Tiny thin blue arcs from ht to engine
usually make a good cracking noise too!!

Thanks will try this.
when i say not good low down i mean you put ur foot down there is no power, ive had the car a while and i know it prefers higher revs but this is rediculous lol.
Is there any chance it could be the coil pack that is faulty?

i have plugged a diagnostic tool into it and im getting codes: P0300:random misfiring, P0302: cylinder 2 misfiring and P0303: Cylinder 3 misifiring.

Does this sound like coil pack to you guys???
