In my car :)
Hi i have one question bout this car. I was wondering if there is any oil i can put in this car instead Selenia 20k? Selenia is not good enough and it is very expensive in comparison with other oils. I was looking Motul x-cess 8100 5w-40? Is this good oil for this car? I know selenia is semi-synth and 10w-40. Motul is synth and 5-40. Will that oil be ok, or which oil would you put in? Thank you.

Understand this, but if i put 20k in...there is to big consumption. JTD didn't drink oil. But this 1.4 16v drinks too much. So i'm trying to find a little bit better oil which will reduce oil consumption.

It shouldn't be consuming so much oil like that my old car which was a 16v consumed a lot cause it had a major oil leak i was pracitcally topping up every week :bang:

By all means try other oils that are recommended for the car, but i would be checking for any oil leaks its what i would do if my car was drinking the oil like theres no tomorrow.

My car has no leaks. Engine dry as a pepper. It doesn't consume a lot but too much to be normal. Car has only 85000km. I'll try other oil and report.

If the oil meets the specifications in the handbook it'll be fine.

"Better" oil is unlikely to reduce consumption. See the handbook/factory manual for "acceptable" oil consumption -- if outside those figures the engine needs overhaul.

Thicker oil may reduce consumption, but no guarantees and not usually a good idea on engines with hydraulic tappets.
