just replaced the heater matrix on the car and now the air bag light is on. brought Fiat Alfa Romeo Lancia Fault Code Reader Scanner Engine ABS Air bag RSR Reset from ebay. sees the engine managament ok ,but doesn't show any faults on the airbag system.
Any advice on getting the correct code reader ?

If its the yellow light - its on the passenger side dash key switch

if its Red - then its airbag for sure, but the connector you were sent might not work because of incorrect pins been connected

Alot of use here - buy cheap and mod the cable with a little bit of wire

its the red light drivers side, how do i convert the unit or rewire the pins ?
thanks for the quick up dates. any web links or websites where i can buy the appropriate bits would be a god send.
ps seems to have made the cd/ radio gone mental, disconnected the top connector with two wires connected and it works fine . could this be a side syntom ?

have you had the dash out?
you need to make sure all earth connections are redone up and tight
this i believe is your problem

the kkl lead and the red lead to clear the stored code from your airbag ecu found on top of the transmission tunnel
do not touch this with battery connected or it can fire either or both airbags
you plug the leads together then into the eobd port below fuse box in car and tother end into laptop with windows ideally xp

yes i have had the dash out, infact the only left was the pedal box

so all i do is order the kit with the three wire links converters plus the plug, it has to be modified to enable the software to work and then us multiscan to find the problem ? anything else i should be aware of.

nothing needs modifying
the reasonn for the 3 coloured leads is instead of a multiplexing circuit that could swap wires from say pin 3 to pin 4 by electronic trickery this is why the coloured plugs do different things to keep it simple
dont buy the bluetooth kkl lead or if you also buy an elm lead to supplement your purchase a bluetooth for this either
keep it simple and it works superb

looked under the heater area and the air bag unit is there, do i have to connect there ? or sould i just connect at the plug at the fuse box drivers side ?
As you see i'm new to this game and im grateful to you all for your help.

tried the free version and read ecu, could't reset the airbag unit, so does anyone know if it read the airbag unit

did you select airbag from the list on the left? and did it show any codes?

ive looked on yanis site and i read it that your airbag is covered in the free version
