Hi Everyone

just wanted some help on the wiring diagram from the haynes manual i have a 53 plate mk2 punto i want to wire in a new digital speedometer http://www.speedview.co/installguide all i need to do it wire latch onto the vss wire but from the diagram i cant see it going from the ecu to the dashboard any help would be a huge help thank you

are you sure this kit is suitable for canbus enabled?
i see they show piggyback connections :yuck:not a good idea especially on something like a 53 plate punto;)

you could damage the bsi irretrievably
refer back to manufacturer is my suggestion theirs is join a forum or club:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
hardly gives confidence does it
 
i also have a 05 plate mk2 aswell so would you surgest putting it in the 05 model instead and i have just sent them a email and they say it is suitable for all vehicles :) do you know what wire in the dashboard is the speed sensor.
 
The Vss signal in that diagram is from the engine ecu and is likely converted to a digital signal at that point, you'll need to track back to the actual source of the speed pulse signal if both cars are mk2b with abs then it is taken from one of the abs wheel sensors if not then there is the speed sensor on the gearbox.

But if it is on the abs system then it's probably best not to mess about with it and invest in a canbus to analogue converter for the speed sensor

my 53 plate doesnt have abs so if i try it by just testing each wire in the dashboard instrument panel is that correct till i get the pulse wire
 
I have just had a look at the wires on my punto and from the speed sensor there is a black (take it that is the netural wire) there is a white and brown (take it this is the positive) and then there is a grey

any ideas as it is nothing like the wiring diagram?

Could you picked up speed signal from VSS for your aftermarket speedometer?
Do you know how many pulses per km (pulses per mile) VSS gives?
