Hi there - The sump on my Fiat Punto (8v, 2002) has a hole in it (probably been bashed on a kerb years ago and rusted). I have a new one to fit, but my Haynes manual tells me to remove the exhaust manifold first. Trouble is the bolts holding the exhaust manifold and Cat shield are rusted to f**k. Has anyone managed to do this job without removing the exhaust manifold? Oh and I will remember to drain the oil first:)

you cant do it without removing the Exhaust manifold

Most bolts have enough strength to come out with the studs

But replace the bolts - with some nice copper grease as well

Dont forget that some of the underside bolts are also going to be 1 hell of a swine todo if they've not been undone before
