I got my new JTD today and had little time to look it over properly but a couple of things caught my eye.

There was a warning light on the dash that indicated a bulb was out, so I checked all the lights when I got home and saw that both the drivers dipped and main beam bulbs were out. Checked fuses: OK. Took the cover off the headlight unit and water splashed onto the floor...the wires were soaked!

Investigated further and managed to get to the sidelight bulb holder, but when I tried to pull the sidelight out it just smashed in my fingers (no considerable pressure was applied). My problem now is that I can't get the rest of the bulb out of the holder...any tips? Also, the water in the headlight unit...is this of considerable concern?

Thanks in advance,
Anthony.

To be honest you'd find it easier getting a replacement from a scrap dealer. Only about £10. Once water has got in, it can cause all sorts of corrosion and bad earth problems. The water would have got in by one of 3 ways. A cracked lense, worn seal or the back plate not being on properly. You can try and fix it using silicone seal on any openings (except back plate) and dry it out with a hair drier. The side light removal is best done with a pair of snipe nosed pliers.
