Hi folks,

Dealing with a little issue. Need to add a wire to the passenger fuse box. I know i could just plug it in where the fuse is, but i want it done the right way. According to Haynes i need to plug the wire in connector D, pin 7.

The connector on the left side is connector D (with the wire taped on). Does anyone know how to open the connector, or to add a wire to it?

Could not find any information on the web, or in the Haynes. So any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

Rather than doing that, why not buy an in line fuse holder. Only about a quid from Maplin. It'll keep the circuit seperate from the cars. Big cable by the look of it (20 amp?) whats it for?

Since the problem still exists when i use an in line fuse holder. I still need to connect one side of the fuse holder to a power source...

I rather keep it original, so my question still exists: does anyone know how to open up that connector D?

The cable is used for powering my original amp. (2.0 MM cable) Just got one at the scrapyard, allready fitted all the wires and things. Only this power wire is still dangling around...

you'll end making more of a mess getting the wiring into the cars original wiring loom

Honestly - Purchase a Seperate Inline Fuse holder that can surpass the loads you wish to apply, if done correctly it'll be just as effective as what you currently have but alot alot cheaper

If i was you - i'd be getting the fuse down the passenger side footwell - door kick plates to the boot

Couldn't agree more. Leave original wiring and connectors alone. They're happier being undisturbed and it makes fault finding on any new circuits a lot easier.

Thanks guys. Went to the local car accessories shop for an in line fuse holder, but found an even more amazing fuse holder:

This holder can easily be plugged in an existing fuse place in the passenger fusebox, and does the job well. Leaving the original wiring intact.

Thanks for the help and support, hopefully someone else also finds this fuse holder a handy one!

Neat little idea. Yep best way to go is keep it seperate from other systems. As always though, earth your equipment to the car not the battery.
