Hi

Got a problem with my engine. The other day it started running rough after I stopped for a minute and tried to pull off. The engine management light came on as well. I turned off the engine and back on again and the light was gone and it was okay. So then I drove home and now about a week later, same thing but the light wouldn't go this time and the engine was running rough again. Turned the engine off had a look in the engine bay and couldn't see anything wrong. Turned the car on after about 5 minutes and it was fine again.

Im thinking it could be the sparkplugs or HT leads so I will change them soon as possible. Anyone got any other suggestions what might be wrong?

The car is W reg 1.2 8v non-cam sensor version.

Hi mate, could be a number of things, like the crankshaft sensor going, can be there is a loose connection from the HT leads to the coilpack (that happened to me once, ran like crap) can also be the coil pack itself, best thing to do is buy a cheap diagnostics kit, (got mine for 40 i think) OBD2 reader, make sure its the right one for the the punto, and plug it in and post the error codes on here. that way you know what is excatly wrong!

Changed spark plugs and HT leads.
Same thing happened again today on the way back from Alton Towers
Haven't got time to do anything yet as I'm busy.
I might see if I have time to grab another crankshaft sensor from a scrappy for a couple of quid and see if it makes a difference

i dont think crank sensor causing fault here
a basic code read but live data would be better
might even be something as simple as a chaffed lead on the coil from ecu
someone reported a few months ago one of these had broken down internally on the plug but not to the state of permanence

Need help.
Changed both coil packs today. Now the engine keeps constantly running rough and shaking, engine management light constantly on and p0352(3) code still remains saying signal low, Fatal
What do I do now?
