This is my first thread so take it easy on me . Ok my car is a fiat punto active 1.2 2003 8v . My problem is when I'm in certain gears my car feels like it has no power and the revs are actually higher than the speed im driving at . I seem to struggle to go over 60 . This does not always happen only now and again say 2/6 drives . From what I have read it could be the clutch or coils . If anyone can help I would much appreciated it . Thanks in advance Michael

What it sounds like to me too.

Thanks guys I did suspect this was the problem , next question how much can I expect to pay to put this right at a garage . I know the actual clutch kit is relatively inexpensive so I'm guessing it's just labour . Am I also right in thinking the engine will have to be dropped in order to replace clutch .

Clutch is about 60quid and about 100quid labour

My next door neighbour changed the clutch on the wifes mk1 in an hour. Mind you he's an Ex Fiat Mechanic and we did have a ramp and the use of air tools too.
