My Sept 2000 Punto had A/C but the pipe kept braking. Dealers all said Fiat knew pipe was poor but did nothing about it. I had it fixed twice under warranty, then third time gave up as wanted £200 to fix, including gas.

I am about to replace my Punto with a new Punto, possibly the Dynamic, is the A/C more realiable now? Or is it exactly the same as 5 years ago?

Has anyone actually got manual A/C on a Punto that has worked fine for years?

my punto hasnt got aircon, but my last car did (cav v6 cdx) , kept on loosing its gas..... turned out to be the charge pipe, seems this is a weak point on many cars with a/c, dont know if this helps, but any leak will soon loose gas. it was diagnosed by a dye that was added to the gas, that can be detected with UV light, I'd seek out an air con expert near to you, and have a dye leak test done, then you can determine the cause, and hopefully fix it....... at least if you do get a new car, you will have 3 years warranty......... look for a good deal though as the new punto is out in the autumn
