You use the red and brown wires, it doesnt make any difference which wire as long as each wire on the button goes to a seperate wire, it just means when you press the button it turns on the starter..

Are you putting them directly into the connector or splicing them?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply been biting my lip since I posted lol

The push start button I bought it has 4wires a black obviously earth a red wire and 2blue wires, but its saying that I need to connect a red+blue wire and just a singular blue to either terminal 15 and 50 but not sure which set goes to which wire red or brown if you get me lol.

Thanks Kirsty x

ok, I just have the 2 wires on mine (its a DIY job)

Red wire - switch terminal 1
Brown wire - switch terminal 2

When these two are joined (by press button) the car starts

are the instructions just generic ones?

is there a light in the switch?

Oh crap!!

Ye its meant to light up.

Big question if i wire it wrong can anything major happen or will it just not start??

Thanks Kirsty x

I would think it should be something like this then...

Red -> Red (starter)
Blue -> Brown (starter)
Black -> Earth
Blue -> Orange (ignition switched for light)

If you have a 9v battery and maybe a christmas tree bulb you could test it before you try it.

Shouldnt think it would cause any damage, maybe just push a wire in to the brown and one into the red on connector block, then try to push the button see if starter turns over.

Hi,

Thanks but there is only 1 red but 2 blue connected to the block.

Do you mean the red wire connects to the red ignition wire and then the 2 blue wires connects to the brown ignition wire??

Sorry I am really not good wire the whole electrical stuff lol.

Thanks x

Thats confused me, should have read above posts. :rolleyes: sorry.

best way to check is to get a battery. a 1.5v AA should be ok, but a 9v would be best.

the black is obviously the earth so this to negative. now touch each of the remaining wires against the positive terminal.

the Red is obviously the LIVE feed, so direct to red on the ignition.

out of the remaining, the one which turns on the light goes with the red wire.

otherwise as colin says.

HOWEVER..

you could always do it the easy way and forget the LED lighting and just use the Red and Black.
