i was sat IDLE in a car park the other day and when i pressed my break i saw the rev counter go up a tiny bit... so i then started pressing it quite fast repeatedly and my car started doing about 2000rpm...

Any ideas what would have caused this ? i have noticed sometimes when braking and changing gear my car will continue to rev and rev quite high untill i take my foot of the clutch :bang:

You sure your not just catching the accelerator with your foot aswell. I'v done it in the past

give throttle body good clean and check all the pipes around the throttle body, brakes use a vaccum from the engine to help them, so maybe loose vaccum pipe.

also check that throttle body and inlet mani have no air leaks and are bolted on tight..

vacuum Pressure is low - so the engine Kicks its rev's up to replace the lost pressure

Does the Brake pedal feel soft at all?
as the Brakes may be struggling to hold pressure

Where is the Hose as well? I wanna make sure mine isn't blowing or anything

Go to the inlet manifold and carefully check EVERY hose that goes to it. Look for splits or loose connections anywhere along all or any hose.

i will check all those tomorrow.. ive noticed my exhaust sounds a tad loud than normal.. not sure if its me back box making the rumble though... i have just fitted a new flexi joint the other day... but thanks for advise will check these and let you know

Blip the throttle - and then start pumping the brakes, and the rev's stayed about 2k for me

Exactly.

If you pump the brake pedal, the revs will naturally increase slightly.

It's normal.

Air has been let into the manifold via the servo so ECU adds fuel to suit & revs rise.
