Ah i would only for the hassle of getting a car from the U.K. we get screwed on vrt and if the vrt isn't paid by a certain time they take the car off you then give you a fine of 1000 euro plus you have to pay the vrt to get it back

I picked up a nice Punto Sporting yesterday and i love the way it drives nice and smoothly, the only problem i'm having with it is the headlight on the passenger side won't work at all, none of the bulbs in it are working and i've tried new bulbs and it still work so i was thinking could it be a fuse? Does anyone know if the headlights have a separet fuse for each one

the plug on the light wont be fitted correctly if nothing works
not all sportings have side skirts by the way just like some dont have the bass boost speaker it must have been all an options thing at trouser down time of ordering

How will i know if its the plug on the light thats problem? Where is the plug located?

it is on the light on the outside
if its a mk2 its a long multiplug and they cause lots of problems
if its the big headlight model then its a round plug on the ouside and these can be got to with bumper on easily
earlier ones it might be easier with wheel liner off if you dont want to undo bumper mounts and pull it down

Its a 2001 model, so basically its not something i can just open the bonnet and fix its awkward to get at?

undo 2/3 philips screws that hold liner to bumper
undo the 8mm bolt in bumper to wing
undo torx screw in bumper to wing (you need to look up back of bumper to see this one
undo two torx screws in bumper to radiator rail
undo torx screw to side of headlight holding bumper on in front of slam panel
undo all three bolts holding headlight in 10mm ,pull bumper down pull headlight forward
plug there
make sure everything works before refitting
its usually an earthing issue on the plug so give it a good waggle

And thats the only way to sort it? Is it bolted to the body of the car for an earth?

headlights are behind the bumper. One other option is to try to fit a separate earth wire to the lamp unit & bolt it to the chassis.

I just had a look at it there again and the indicator bulb is working in that headlight but the others isn't so cos thats working could it still be the plug giving the trouble or is it more likely a fuse?

Got it sorted lads thanks for all the help, i love this website everybody is so friendly and helpful
