hey guys, whats the diffrence between a mk2, mk2b and mk3, recently got myself what i believed to be a mk2 but im not sure what the diffrence between them and how to tell them apart

you have a mk2b
the Mk 3 in the UK is the Grande Punto

mk2 have the small head lights
mk2b have the big headlights and the big badge on the back with the reflectors
mk3 dont exist some people call mk2b's mk3 or there referring to the grande punto

Hi, the MK2 has the retangular headlights the MK2b has the new larger lights, the MK3 doesn,t exist as a model but refers to MK2b, then came the Grande. SNAP!

In the UK market,it does in some others

Mmm, i'd classify the Classic Punto available in other countries as a Mk3

I think Mk2B is also Canbus, where Mk2 is only partly digital.

In Italy, Fiat officially classify the Punto as:
Mk1 = 1a Serie (up to 99)
Mk2 = 2a Serie (99-03)
Mk3 = 3a Serie (03-07) [ in UK known as Mk2b, big headlamps, different engine code to Mk2]
Grande Punto = completely separate model.

i call the big light 2b the mk3
makes sense to everyone
maybe we should use it on here and it might catch on
