I've got an 02 plate Punto Turbo Diesel, and my moron mate left the sidelights on and allowed the battery to drain.

Problem I have is the digital display at the bottom of the speedo is constantly flashing.

Is there a way to reset this to stop it happening, as its irritating.

Also both airbags lights are on, even though I've unlocked the airbag lock on the passenger side.

Is there a common fault to look for on these?

The Dash - Normally Flashing Clock/ Whole Display Flashs means its not aligned Is it the original Dash? Mines been upgraded and it hasn't flashed when i killed battery

And the airbag lights - The battery is SOOO low, the Airbag ECU Shuts the airbags off completely - as when the voltage stays too low for too long - it goes into safety mode - i did this recently as well like an Idiot :(

Luckily the FiatEcuScan Can reset the light for you if you wish :)

Maybe the battery is shot.
Sometimes when totally flattened or close to worn out they wont accept a proper charge. An Optimate might recover it but if the battery is old there isnt much point.

I've chucked on a virtually new battery on there, and shes starts and runs fine, just this irritating flashing display.

Its the original clocks.

normally fiat can align the dash to the body ecu, but im having the same issue having replaced the bog standard dial with a set from a HGT....mileage is flashing away at 222k when it should read 55k...

gonna ring round a few "digital mileage correction" guys tomoro, as id doubt fiat garage will align it for me...

dont go to fiat to get it proxy aligned - they wanted quiet alot of money for it

Get the yellow Pages out / google any Local auto-electricians - ring them up to give you a quote

i think i paid either 60 or 70 for my dash to be Aligned

Alternativly - the Fiat ECU scan software has the Proxy align Feature
But you need to have a licence version + a Suitable Cable

And Colinf1
IF the dash clocks were at 222k *which is alot really*
And your car is at 55K - Then you cant get the milage put correct :(

Clocks Can Only go Forwards - Not Back :(

we changed to KM a few years ago, think it was around 2005...most pre 2005 cars have MPH dials, with only smaller KMPH numbers...
