oops sorry folks I'd delete it but too late
was done before i bought the car going to get the tools to lock it up and re do it if the timing was out would it show up as camshaft sensor also were would i get the tools from to lock engine up checked maf sensor as you said was chocked with oil so cleaned that out cheers PaulPaint marks on the pulleys mean sod-all. It has to be checked with the proper tools, I've lost count of the number of 1.2/1.4 16v belts we've had to redo correctly because another garage has tried to get away with paint marks. How long before this problem was it done?
if the timing was out would it show up as camshaft sensor
Has it had the cambelt replaced recently? Incorrect valve-timing can cause this error (and running issues).
checked maf sensor as you said was chocked with oil so cleaned that out cheers Paul
checked timing marks all fine changed the iat and camshaft sensor
changed the sensor on the left hand side of engine which was blue thought this was the iat sensor cleaned sensor which looked like the map sensor on top of the inlet manifold on the left hand side cheers Paul also should the car carry on running when you disconnect the cam sensor
I thought you'd already changed the Intake Air Temp/Map sensor (combined unit)?
