Tuning Induction Kits

Tuning Induction Kits

Do it for appearance and noise but on a standard engine it will do nothing for performance. Anything that sucks hot air from the radiator area or above the engine will reduce performance.

Something could be made up with 65mm aluminium tube, silicone bends and a suitable pod filter.

okay i was looking into GSR induction kits and they seem to be really good, anyone know where i can get one ? Can't seem to find one anywhere now :|

If it works. Ive done some googling and he seems very hard to contact. Odd because he does some good stuff.

Also found, 020 7005 0909. Worth a try anyway.

Hi,

I have a mk2 active sport 1.2 8v. I am looking for a good induction kit for it but I am confused. I have read a few other posts were they are saying to get a k&n or pipercross specifically made for my model. Then others are suggesting a ford focus induction kit??

Why would i put a different make and model car induction kit in would this give off better performance and noise compared to the specific punto induction kit.

Please Help K x

gsr are the best inductions u can get for the punto.

as for reasons why everyone rates the focus induction to an extent is simple, cheap to buy, easy to fit and does the job. it aint perfect and could do with a longer pipe to be able to move it away from the engine block/radiator, but for the price u cant complain. its just so happens that the focus kit fits perfect on the 8v engines.

and playboisoldier, i did my kit by removing the airbox, cutting the inlet pipe just before the bend, putting in a metal collar where the cut was made and twisted the end round away from the manifold then fitted the filter. aint fantastic as its still behind the radiator, but for the price of a cheap filter and a couple of jubilee clips, ur gunna be hard pushed to do it cheaper. when i get round to it, i will most likely extend the inlet with some ducting so i can place the filter behind the front bumper grille. just need to work out a way to keep the filter in place down there.

Look here on ebay. There is a huge range of large bore silicone bends. Something could easily be made up with suitable bends, some straight 65mm alloy tube an a K&N pod filter.

The HGT intake pipe is 65mm with a filter box and paper element on the end and that makes 130bhp. More than enough for a 1200. Search ebay for Punto HGT engine and you'll see the setup.

A purpose flow designed intake (like the GSR) will better but at much more cost.

Good to hear all the fuss about contacting him is largely BS.

I emailed him about an HGT variator. Although he no longer makes them (Fiat fixed the design fault) he was quick to reply.
