It would help if you said how much you filled it up. Do you mean you filled it right up to the top or just a bit? Because all the way would probably mean yes its dodgy or you have a horrible leak

yes filled right up and yes it is for real and it isnt the gauge its the sender
twice ive asked what might seem silly to some but isnt to me and someones been sarcastic so ******** ill cancel my account

You've asked if your car has a dodgy gauge but then you tell us that your sender is faulty therefore answering your own question, yes i'm sarcastic but I tend to do that when I read something that obviously answers itself, its like asking if you have a air leak cause your tyre keeps going flat, like it says in my sig, 'if I offend you......unlucky' however cancelling your account is a little extreme.
