The Alternator has just packed up this morning on my girlfriend's Mk1 1.2 8V Punto . . and she needs to drive 50 miles to go to work tonight, so need to get it sorted today . . typical !

I find it very difficult to Search for info on this site . . . . one thread said there was a good Guide to changing the Alternator . . . but can I find it anywhere?!!

If there IS, perhaps somebody can show me where . . . . or if not, give me any tips (for example, it's hard to see even if there's a plug-in connector or bolted on cable)

I know it's not rocket science, but these jobs can be fiddley on different cars, and a few tips from somebody that's done it can be very useful - that's what these forums are all about!

Guide should stillbe exact for the punto. Just know where all the wires went onto it and it's 3 bolts I think to remove it.

New one on and I get someone else to keep the tension when refitting while I tighten the bolts. How do you know it's gone though?
