I had this problem! Real pain in the ass. Put the bottom bolt in again if you have it to take the strain off. That one bolt will be holding the weight of the strut. I did end up punching them out using hammer and screwdriver.

Can you not angle grind that off though?

its the bottom bolts thats f**ked (n) top 1 is just holding it in place that 1 slides out nice and i would take the whole thing off but i dont have the tool to get the drive shaft out and some 1 borrowed my balljoint splitter and never returned it and i cant remeber who it was, im limited to a few tools hand and power tools and i got £0 to my name as i got insurance + mot and my test to pay out

Ahh yeah the bottom one's in. I thought it didn't look bent. Cut the head off and punch it out the other way?

think thats my only option atm but its raining power tools + rain = shocked steven in hospital  although it would be a luagh to film it would hurt

also there is a rubber bumb stop on the shock and a gater with the new springs are lowered by 50mm should i cut the rubber bump stop down as its not gonna have much to travel befor it hits it

i was lucky on my mk2, they were seized in properly tight

Took me 2 days to get them all out
Nuts came off finally after some brute force, the bolts i spent ages smashing them with a lump hammer, they seriously did corrode in well

When fitting new bolts ensure you copper slip in the holes a lil (a blob) and then cover the new bolt, as you slide it in, it should help prevent it re-sticking

ziggy
